Careers at PayPal
PayPal has a family of brands including Venmo, Paydiant, Xoom, and Honey. Through its brands and services, PayPal’s goal is to reimagine and democratise money.
As PayPal is a respected employer, the process to secure a full-time role is competitive, as is recruitment for student and graduate experiences.
It offers a 12-week PayPal Internship Experience for students, a graduate scheme called the Recent College Graduates (RCGs) Experience for those just starting out in the workplace, and many opportunities for experienced hires.
The company has roles across its 15 business areas: Engineering; Product Management; Design & User Experience; Global Professional Services; Sales & Business Development; Trust, Safety & Fraud; Marketing & Communications; General Management & Business Support; Finance; Human Resources; Data Science & Analytics; Legal; Customer Support; IT & Technical Operations; and Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies.
PayPal has four core values, which it refers to as its ‘One Team Behaviours’. These encourage an open, collaborative, and diverse company culture that has high ethical standards and respect at its centre.
The behaviours are:
Innovation – to create amazing customer experiences.
Collaboration – to execute and win as one team.
Inclusion – to respect and value uniqueness.
Wellness – to care for yourself and each other.
Keep these behaviours in mind throughout the recruitment process and seek to evidence your alignment with the company culture, alongside your suitability for the role.

Final Interview
Applying to work at PayPal is a multi-stage process. First, you’ll need to lodge an online application for your chosen vacancy. Next, job candidates are required to complete online psychometric assessments, a round of technical tasks, and at least two interviews.
Only the strongest candidates from each stage will progress in the process, so it is vital to impress in all tasks.
PayPal online application
To apply for a job opportunity at PayPal, you’ll need to submit an online application. This will require you to submit your personal details, educational background, and work history by uploading your CV. Ensure your CV is up-to-date and its content tailored towards the open role.
You may also be asked to answer a few questions regarding your motivation for the role, and for joining PayPal.
The recruitment team reviews many applications, so the answers on your form should be well structured and concise. Check your spelling and grammar carefully before submitting.
PayPal Aptitude Tests
If your application passes pre-screening, you’ll be invited to sit a series of online assessments. The tests you are required to take will differ according to the job role you are applying for, but will likely be a combination of those below.
PayPal personality test
The PayPal personality test seeks to determine if a candidate is a good fit for the company’s workplace and organisational culture. The test will present a series of multiple-choice questions that explore your behavioural preferences, motivators, drives, and personality traits.
Personality tests are not timed, but the time taken to complete the test may be logged. It is best to work at a steady pace, as an overly long completion time suggests indecision.
PayPal numerical reasoning test
The PayPal numerical reasoning test assesses your ability to handle numerical data. The questions will be multiple-choice and include concepts such as fractions, percentages, decimals, ratios, sequences, basic algebra, and general arithmetic.
The data will be presented in graphs, charts, and tables. It will likely be relevant to the business area and role you are applying for.
PayPal logical reasoning test
PayPal’s logical reasoning test assesses your ability to solve problems involving shapes and patterns. It measures your capacity to rapidly interpret information, deduce the governing rules, and draw conclusions.
The questions involve sequences of figures, composed of shapes and/or symbols. You will be required to select the next figure in the sequence from a selection of multiple-choice answers.
The test will be timed, so fast pace and the ability to think clearly under pressure is crucial.
PayPal verbal reasoning test
A verbal reasoning assessment tests a candidate’s ability to interpret, analyse, and make deductions from text. The test will present a series of written passages, which need to be read carefully.
You will be presented with a series of statements and asked to indicate whether they are ‘true’, ‘false’, or if you ‘cannot say’, given the information provided. Again, the test is timed, so you’ll need to be able to absorb information quickly and make accurate deductions.
